Dar Al Atta Charity

Dar Al Atta Society is a voluntary non-governmental organization that seeks to materialize noble aims. It has operated in Muscat since April 2002 from its premises in Madinat Sultan Qaboos.

Aims
To provide the less privileged categories of society with basics that secure them decent living.
Our mission
1- Promote awareness of the needs of the families living in our neighborhood.
2- Improve the standard of living of the poor and needy.
3- Organize charity events to collect donations to fund the charity projects.

Scope of work
1- Family care
The Society provides needy families with their basic needs and helps them to have a source of income . The aids provided by the Society fall into three categories:

1- Monthly food aids
2- Maintenance and renovation of family houses after assessing their construction conditions
3- Reconstruction of houses that not fit for habitation

2- Student aids
1- Daily breakfast for students of needy families
2- Provide school uniforms and stationary at the beginning of the school year
3- Provide other supplies for schools such as computers, glasses, libraries and prayer rooms.

3- Hospitals
1- Organize visits to children admitted to hospital and address their needs
2- Organize recreational programs and activities for children for social and national occasions
3- Provide children with games and other recreation facilities
4- Equip play rooms with the required equipment and furniture

Other activities
1- Provide emergency relief aids at times of natural crises
2- Visit schools for students with special needs to address their needs and provide them with the required support (Al Amal School for the Deaf, Al Wafa Social Voluntary Center in Amerat, and Child Care Homes)

The Society undertakes a number of seasonal activities
1- Distributing Ramadan supplies
2- Distributing Eid uniforms
3- Distributing Zakat to needy families
4- Distributing Eid slaughters (Udhiya)
